Old Man Winter blasts arctic air,
Drives snow wild with glacial gusts
Intent on swirling insane patterns
Beyond our picture window.
Terrorized crystals swoop and crash,
Entomb the unsuspecting earth
To quiet the turmoil and enforce hush
With a frozen white cloak.
The view is inspiring and bone-chilling,
A glimpse of raw savagery
And gelid beauty turned fierce
That hypnotize the senses and soul.
A fine line separates two perspectives,
Crazy madness and magnificent beauty
Vying for attention and influence
But bowing to human choice: dread or wonder.
