We joined eight of our ten grandchildren today (three
visitors and five locals) for sledding under sunny skies in almost-balmy forty
degree temperatures. The wet snow
packed well, making runways smooth and slick, and snowmen easy to shape. Pictures speak the loudest, so here are
a few.

I rolled three balls to make a three-tiered snowman, then added stone eyes and a bent twig for a mouth. The kids added stick arms, stone buttons, and grass hair. He became a celebrity...
...until his eager fans converged to eat him alive!
