Good-bye Moby Dick




A snowdrift resembling Moby Dick spanned the length of our deck for months this winter, as if beached right outside our sliding glass door.  Here are pictures I posted in January, in case you missed them:




Our almost-legendary Moby Dick is finally decomposing (think: melting).  Today only a shrunken corpse remains, as you see below.  Soon our winter mascot, this massive icon of nautical prowess sculpted by Old Man Winter, will seep through the ground and into the lake: a liquid memory flowing home, returning to sea.
