A veteran stunt flyer buzzed the north end of the lake this
morning, performing curves as if inscribing his initials in the endless blue
sky. We watched from our
living room, enchanted by the bald eagle’s dignified composure and airborne
poise. If only I could be a wing
walker!
Before long he narrowed his flight path and swooped down for
a fly-by just inches above the smooth surface. Although we were viewing the
same lake, he saw it from a drastically different perspective. With landing
gear extended, he plucked an unsuspecting fish from the silvery surface and
flew off with it dangling from his talons.
This magnificent bird’s viewpoint was above and beyond. The
sky truly was his limit.
