Back in the never-never-land of our lives when the kids were living out their unrestricted lives running all over our farm property, we owned a book in our library entitled, “Old Farm, New Farm.” In this charming and artfully illustrated story, a farmer gets his act together (finally, after many years and much deferred maintenance) and fixes up the barn, farmhouse, and surrounding areas in such a way that the old place looks totally new.
In some ways we’re pretending to be that farmer, and today (for a low, low price of mega thousands of dollars which I won’t specify here) the barn is being painted. Here are pictures to prove our “old farm” is becoming a “new farm.”
