Launching our watercraft in the spring is hardly ceremonial. There's no champagne bottle involved, and our boats lack royal names as is the case with so many famous ships. However, when the wild swans and beavers begin traversing the lake in preparation for the coming season, we also get antsy to see the boats return to the water. It's an exciting time.
Our old 1975 fishing boat was the first of our fleet to
reenter the lake this year. More boat
hoists will be dragged into the water tomorrow, and in the next couple of
weeks, the other three boats in our family of watercraft will also reconvene at the
pier.
It is a time of hope and promise for lakies.
