A Letter to Winter

Hey Winter,

I just want to say that we look forward to your visit every year!  You’re quite the character, tip-toeing into our lives on barely-freezing temperatures and quiet snow flurries before turning brazen - solidifying the lake and sweeping the land with gusts that build whopping drifts.

Recently we’ve noticed you’ve become very raw and nippy, sort of like a playful arctic puppy that needs to attend obedience school.  We still love you, but honestly, we’re growing tired of your revelry.  At least we’re not like folks in other locations subjected to the full whoopla.

Still, as of today I think we’ve had enough snow and sub-zero temperatures, thank you.  Consider this your official notice.

Sincerely,
Tired of Shoveling
