Eventide

I laid on the pier, back against wood and toes dangling in the water, as Poseidon and Helios rode ethereal cloud-chariots suspended in an azure sky.  Their extended cotton-arms dangled a fiery sun above aqueous shimmers, lowering it gradually until it extinguished in blinding waves.  Once light departed they also dissolved in a great sea of gray powder puff clouds, and night fell.
