A couple of days ago I learned something important: manly men only use yellow highlighters. Not blue or orange, and CERTAINLY not pink. Just yellow. It is the appropriate color of choice for the male gender.
I argued the point. What’s wrong with orange? Or blue? I was told they’re not acceptable. But what makes yellow acceptable? It just is. It is scholarly. It is male. It is the original highlighter color. The Highlighter Code apparently says so.
Two brand new yellow Sharpies now sit on the table next to my husband’s notebook – one for immediate use, and one to serve as a back-up.
Yellow. It proves you’re a man.
