A quick snap with my phone camera, and I walk on by. Those
shells from last summer are still where the grandkids put them, in the
corner of the planter. Click.
I didn’t know what I’d captured until much later when the
picture appeared full-size on my computer screen.
Expressive, almost epic symmetry. An image of weathered exoskeletons and dead
leaves, posed with new green sprigs. Simple,
grand perfection. A reminder that life
on earth is not static, but seasonal and progressive.
We often say of natural beauty, like a stunning sunset,
flower, rock formation, or wild bird, “Oh look at that – nature is so
lovely.” That’s true, but how much
better to acknowledge the source of nature.
“Our God is beyond amazing to create such uniquely formed beauty, and worthy of
praise. Glory to Him!” Amen.
