The sky unzipped its soupy winter cloak to show off the wild blue yonder today. I
discovered new (beautiful pink) growth in the flowerbed beneath a blanket of dry oak leaves, and
the inlet to the lake burbled with the first open water we’ve seen in over two
months. There’s plenty of evidence that seasonal change is coming, despite the weatherman’s prediction that Old Man Winter will be sharing his last
gasp of sub-zero temperatures a week from today. Yes. Really.
