"Love...deeply...serve...with God's strength." (I Peter)

Today’s post-Christmas celebration offered many flashbacks to previous Christmases here at the Buck Creek house: Johnny Mathis’ classic Christmas CD, kids prancing all around like skittlebugs, piles of colorful packages, cheerful voices overlapping on every side, kitchen craziness and the constant evaporation of more and more FOOD. At the time of this post (mid-afternoon) the initial aftermath remains sprinkled throughout the house: pitter-pattering child-feet, new toys, bows and paper scraps, cookie crumbs – and the ever-present drone of conversation punctuated with laughter.

A few new things have showed up as well: TWO indoor dogs, the first-ever indoor Christmas scavenger hunt, and right this moment a contingency is heading out to the snow-covered pasture to start a big Christmas BONFIRE.

We are richly blessed by this growing family and an opportunity, as we jump-start a new year, to practice serving each other in love. (I Peter 4:8-11)
