Bedded perennial plants are slipping away, slinking
closer to the earth each day - drooping and drying out and dying. Very few blossoms remain, and yet these waning veterans of summer seem
to watch intently as ornamental grasses vigorously throw out their waving plumes
for a final flashy show.
