Our walls
Wear nicks
And holes
Their scars
Like mine
Don’t fade.
Though paint
Can do
It’s trick
The signs
Of age
Are clear.
But strength
Is borne
Of bricks
That hold
Worn walls
In place.
They stand
Like dikes
Of grace
To face
The world’s
Brute force.
Trust stacked
With faith
And hope
Can brace
Those flawed
With years.
Our wounds
And scabs
Make sense
In light
Of Love’s
Sure hold.
